People have long dreamed of soaring above traffic jams. Inventors and business people have tried to make it happen, A _________________.
But, that may be changing. Nearly a dozen companies around the globe are competing to be the first B _________________. It would enable drivers to glide above crowded roadways. A few of the ideas being developed are cars with wings that unfold for flight. But, most aren't cars at all. Instead, they take off and land vertically like helicopters. Rather than a single, large main rotor, they have several small rotors. They allow the aircraft to lift off the ground. Each rotor is operated by a battery-powered electric motor.
There are many obstacles to flying cars becoming a part of everyday life. These include convincing the government that the aircraft are safe and figuring out C ____________________.
